We are phenomenally lucky to live when we do - I was born with ear problems which progressively deteriorated so that I was stone deaf at the age of 4, and started school lip-reading.

Fortunately, an operation was able to sort that once I was 5, and a few years to coaching sorted out the speech impediments I&#039;d picked up as a result of not being able to hear what the words were meant to sound like - to the extent that I&#039;m now a professional speaker!</description>
